Ring Stud sinds 1971,

Het begon allemaal op een voorstelling van Welsh Pony’s in Brussel anno 1969.
De Welsh pony’s kwamen voor in hun reeks A,B,K en voor de eerste maal in België een Welsh Cob sectie D. De hengst droeg de naam Trefaes Coldcrest.
Een fors gebouwde Welsh Cob met veel adel en was ingevoerd uit Wales door de familie Ducatelle. We namen kontact op met de eigenaar en die vertelde mij dat hij twee Welsh Cob merries had ingevoerd met de bedoeling Welsh Cobs te fokken.
De volgende zomer ging ik op bezoek. Het waren twee merries van de Rystyd stud in Wales.
Eén van de twee merries had een prachtig hengstveulen.
Na lang praten heb ik het veulen gekocht en gaf het de naam Jonker.
Het was voor eens een goede showhengst als jaarling twee en drie jaar.
Tijdens deze periode ging ik voor het eerst naar de Royal Welsh show. Eén van de grootste evenementen in Europa.
Na het zien van deze show gingen wij ons meer specialiseren in dit ras en kocht ik een jaarling merrie Cascob Delight.
Dit was onze show merrie bij uitstek. Ze heeft ons meer dan twee honderd eerste prijzen geschonken. Met als hoogtepunt de deelname aan de Royal Welsh show in 1990 waar ze als eerste werd verkozen.
We zijn op latere leeftijd beginnen fokken met Delight en ze gaf verschillende goede veulens.
Het was in het jaar 1993 dat mijn zoon Kurt ook interesse kreeg voor de Welsh Cobs.
Daar mijn leeftijd er was en het niet meer zo goed ging om de pony’s te showen was ik zeer gelukkig dat Kurt mijn fokken en showen kan verderzetten.
In 1996 besloot Kurt met de merrie naar Wales te gaan voor haar bij de tophengst te brengen.
De befaamde hengst Nebo Daniel.
Het jaar daarop gaf Delight een merrieveulen en gaven het de naam Ring Danielle.
Dit is voor ons, tot op heden de topmerrie in onze stal.
In 2001 brachten wij haar uit in Wales op de Centenary Show, een show die maar elke 100 jaar plaats heeft. Wat we niet durfden dromen was waar. Zij was de eerste in haar klasse.
Zo is de Ring Stud opgegroeid tot op heden met veel kwaliteit en een 5-tal merries voor de fokkerij.

Ring Stud since 1971,

It all started in 1969 with a show of Welsh ponies at Brussels.
The Welsh ponies came in their ranges A, B, K, and for the first time in Belgium a Welsh Cob section, D.
The name of the stud was Trefaes Coldcrest. A strongly built Welsh Cob of some nobility that had been introduced by the Ducatelle family.
We made contact with the owners who told us that he has two Welsh Cob mares to show us which he intended to breed.
The next summer we made a visit to their company. There were two mares from the Rhystyd stud in Wales.
One of the two mares had a lovely foal.
After a long chat we bought the foal and named it Jonker.
For the first three years it was a very good show stud.
In the meanwhile I visited the Royal Welsh show for the first time in my life; it is one of Europe's biggest events.
After seeing the show we decided to specialise in that kind of horse, so we bought a yearling filly 'Cascob Delight'.
She was our number one show mare. She won more than 200 first prices and best of all in the Royal Welsh show of 1990 she came first.
We recently started breeding with Delight and she has given us several good foals.
It was in 1993 that my son Kurt got more involved in the business of breeding Welsh Cobs.
I’m getting a little older, so for this reason I am glad that my son Kurt is taking over the company.
In 1996 Kurt brought our mare to Wales to fertilise her by a top stallion, named Nebo Daniel.
The next year Delight gave us a mare foal and we named her Ring Danielle.
At the moment she is still our top mare.
In 2001 we took her to Wales for the Centenary show, a show that only happens once in a hundred years.
What we didn't imagine became reality.... our mare came first in her class.
So, that is how our company Ring Stud started.
At present we have five top breeding mares of the highest quality.
